Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai - Tamura Manami.
There is often, as I have mentioned, a warm atmosphere surrounding a meganekko. A similar feel characterises the childhood friend character. Perhaps it’s this quality that makes Manami, in spite of all her forwardness, seem like a perfectly classic example of both.
K-On - Manabe Nodoka.
If she joined HTT, what would she do? Perhaps be a second keyboardist?
No, she seems more like she’ll replace Sawako as their “manager”.
Steins;Gate - Kiryuu Moeka.
Moeka can be seen as a subversion of your usual meganekko - however, the glasses she wears serve their function of blocking off the “window to the soul” perfectly.
Do we ever understand her?
Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica - Akemi Homura.
Usually, the glasses character offers an emotional moment when she removes her glasses - perhaps crying tears of joy in the sunset after a date, for example.
However, Homura seals her emotions away when she removes her glasses.
Lucky Star - Takara Miyuki.
Most meganekko project an air of gentleness, quietness and warmth around them. The wavy hair helps, I suppose.
K-On - Manabe Nodoka.
Sugar Sugar Rune…? This pose seems quite popular, really.
(Now, whenever I see one of those transformation sequences, I think “soul gem” or something…)
Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu - Nagato Yuki.
The style here makes her look unkempt. While that would be out of character for her, it does seem rather cute…
Fate/hollow ataraxia - Himuro Kane.
Her name is pretty interesting - Ice room? Clock?
Then again, side characters in Type-MOON tend to have odd names.
Chaos;Head - Kusunoki Yua.
…In which she pulls an arm out of nowhere.
I’d forgotten how she spoke when showing her determined side - repeating the same point over and over with different phrasing… I don’t have the exact words on hand, but it goes like this:
“You know what I’m talking about. You know, don’t you? I’m sure you know. It would be strange if you didn’t know. So, you know. Don’t you? Don’t you know?”
